Nigthtlife in Zagreb - clubs, bars, discos, live music
Bars,
cafes, clubs, discos, pubs, live music; determined night crawlers
will not be bored by Zagreb nightlife. The bar-lined Tkalciceva
street in the Zagreb centre is always busy with people determined
to have fun. The Lower Town (also centre) with Bogoviceva street
and Trg Petra Preradovica plus the Branimir Centre across from the
train station. Also many discos and night bars you can find by Jarun
Lake and south of the Sava river.
For
the most part, the vibe is pretty relaxed in Zagreb clubs. There
are a few clubs where you're expected to show up in movie-star fashion
but they are a definite exception. In some clubs you might need
a ticket which can be bought at the entrance. The ticket price runs
from about 30 to 50 kuna (about 4 to 6 euros). Drinks are rather
cheap for Westerners, from 15 kuna (about 2 euro) and up.
As
you might expect from a capital city, and a metropolis of just over
one million people, Zagreb enjoys a deserved reputation for a riotous
nightlife. A mixture of students, snappy dressers, rockers and many
other party lovers ensures that the bars and clubs are never short
of a customer or two, and with Zagreb finally on the weekends away
destination list, thanks to cheap Wizzair flights to Zagreb from
London and many other cities, the number of tourists is set to rapidly
to increase and give the nightlife a dash of cosmopolitanism.
A
good place to start any night out in the Croat capital is Tkalciceva
street. A pretty thorough way it also boasts the city's highest
concentration of bars and cafes which are perfect for taking in
the capital at a slow pace. The Main Square also makes a decent
place to begin the night, with a continental cafe vibe presiding
and a chance to see the world go by.
